What you can expect to pay to have air conditioning installed across Brisbane and South East Queensland — and the things that move the price up or down.
Guide | Updated July 2026 | Climate Supply Co.
The honest answer is "it depends" — but on a small number of clear factors. Installation cost comes down to the type of system, how far the unit is from the outdoor compressor, and how easy your site is to work on. Here's how it breaks down.
Every price on our site is for the unit only (supply only) — we deliver it anywhere in South East Queensland. From there you have two options:
A standard back-to-back install — where the indoor head sits on an external wall and the outdoor unit mounts directly behind it — starts from a fixed base rate you can add straight at checkout. That covers a typical, straightforward fit.
From there, the final price can move up depending on the job. The main things that add cost:
| Factor | Why it affects price |
|---|---|
| Long pipe run | More copper pipe and labour when the outdoor unit is far from the head |
| Storey height / access | Upper-floor or hard-to-reach installs need more time and equipment |
| Electrical work | A new circuit or switchboard work adds to the job |
| Condenser mounting | Wall brackets or a concrete slab cost more than ground feet |
No surprises: when you add installation at checkout you answer a few quick questions about your site, and we give you an estimate up front. That estimate is confirmed with you before any work is booked — you're never charged more without agreeing to it first.
Ducted is quoted after a free site assessment, not sold at a fixed price — and for good reason. The cost depends on your home's size, the number of zones, how much ductwork is needed and your roof access. Two homes of the same footprint can price quite differently. It can be tempting to chase the cheapest fit, but refrigerant work is regulated for a reason. Any installer handling refrigerant must hold a current ARCtick authorisation from the Australian Refrigeration Council. Unlicensed installation is illegal, voids your manufacturer's warranty, and can create real safety and performance problems. Keep your installation certificate — you'll need it for any warranty claim. More on this in our note on the 10-year warranty.
No — online prices are supply only. You can add professional installation at checkout for split systems, or arrange your own licensed installer. Ducted is quoted separately after a site assessment.
Yes — refrigerant work legally requires a current ARCtick authorisation. Unlicensed work voids your warranty and can be unsafe. All our installs use licensed refrigeration mechanics.
A standard back-to-back install starts from a fixed base rate at checkout. The final figure depends on pipe run, height, electrical and mounting — and is confirmed before booking.
